This monument stands in tribute to Augustin-Daniel Comte Belliard, a French general of the Napoleonic Wars, who fought with distinction as a commander of the French Imperial Armies. The reason he is honoured in Belgium is his role as Belgium’s chief military commander, and as Minister Plenipotentiary, overseeing Belgium's independence from France. The monument is a life sized marble statue of Belliard, who is depicted standing and wearing full military dress uniform of a general. In his right hand, he holds a copy of Belgium's first constitution, while his left hand rests atop his sword also on his left. The monument looks like it hasn’t been well maintained. It hasn’t sustained any serious degradation, but a bit dirty. The sculpture would be recognisable for those familiar with his history. The monument is not far from Parc de Bruxelles, but probably not worth your while unless you have time.

A very nice statue of Augustin-Daniel Comte Located just bear the palace and park lands .. some nice steps down to a small intimate garden
