Amazing structure and marvelous engineering. Don't forget to see the museum inside for 8 euros. It shows a movie of the history of the building.

Really impressive to see huge cargo boats, being lifted more than 70 meters. Biggest elevator I've ever seen If you're nearby, make a pit stop. It's definitely worth it for all ages.

It’s incredible how man can overcome mayor obstacles. A wonderful work of engineering, well worth a visit.

In a word Flabbergasted. The expo explains the reasoning and history behind the construction very well. Which is needed if your not a skipper or logistics person.

Its a good weekend getaway for families. You can go for the boat tours or just laze around the place with a tent. Some people were fishing. The boat lift is a fascinating work of engineering. We didn’t manage to see the museum. The only downside are: 1. The boat trips are expensive 2. There are only 2 boat trips per day going to the centre and you need to book in advance especially when it is sunny

I was too late to enter the building, plus on a sunday so: no ship lifting that night. Nevertheless it was pretty impressive

The visitorscenter is closed on a Monday. As we soon found out. Luckily we got to see the lift in action as it started moving just as we arrived. I will surely return to see the inner workings. We drove around to see the old hydraulic lifts nearby and were pleasantly surprised by the old industrial meets green look. One day we will come back with a boat to do both. If you're in the area and are interested in technology, it's worth a detour. Don't expect to spend a full day here though.
