The Monument to Saint Johannes van Nepomuk is situated on the Wollestraat bridge crossing over Dyver Canal. This statue is the works of Flemish Sculptor Pieter Pepers and was erected in 1767. What you see is an angelic and bearded figure of the Saint. He is gripping a crucifix and has a metel halo above his head. The statue stands upon a pedestal which includes gilded engraving and ornamental lampposts on the sides of the monument. This is one of many interesting busts, statues and other monuments scattered around the Historic Centre of Macau. Have a quick look-see before continuing onward with intended sightseeing in the area.
This statue is located on a bridge over one of the famous canals of Bruges, pretty views from here!
The Wollestraat bridge crossing over Dyver Canal is a central spot in the old city. It’s a pleasant place to people watch. Many of the boats can be seen passing under the bridge.
The statue is cool but the view is cooler!
Views are amazing from here
Always enjoyed going to Bruges. If you like seeing interesting sites, the statue will be on one of your routes as he overlooks one of the many bridges. Very popular with tourists and of course the boat rides and beer gardens, not forgeting the chocolates!!!
Great place to take a picture.
