Beautiful statue of an old baker going through the Diestsestraat in Leuven which holds a memory of all the bakeries that were and are located here. I think it is a beautiful sculpture.

Bekend standbeeld in het centrum van de stad. Het beeld werd in 1979 door het verbond van brood- en banketbakkers aan de stad Leuven geschonken. Het werd in de loop van de jaren meermaals slachtoffer van vandalisme, maar werd telkens weer opgeknapt. Het beeld is van de hand van de Aarschotse beeldhouwer/kunstenaar Roland Rens (1952-2007).
