The Belgian division of Unisys Corporation recently moved to the capital of Wallonia, a medieval city with a Roman fortress, located 65 km from Brussels. These are the heirs of IT giants such as Burroughs and UNIVAC . The first version of the local museum was assembled by enthusiasts from among the staff. NAM-IP is now a huge collection of digital artifacts that has several thousand storage units. As they write on the page of the museum itself, this is the largest collection \within a radius of 375 km\, apparently, to Paris.

This museum is a little treasure. I discovered it by accident on google maps when visiting Namur. The exhibition is a combination of different collections (Bull, IBM, Unisys, ...) but with the 2 hour guided tour (we took the French one) this gets woven into a story going through the history of computing. I would highly recommend first following the tour and afterwards strolling through the museum, this way the collection comes to life for someone, like me, who doesn't know so much about mainframes and mini-computers. I hope more people will discover this little gem and wish the young museum a bright future.
One of the most intresting museums, a must for geeks

In deze vaste tentoonstelling doorloop je de geschiedenis van de computer. Van het begin van de tijdrekening (ontstaan van het binair stelsel) tot vandaag. Onderweg zijn er heel wat weetjes en duidingen. Er zijn heel wat toestellen opgesteld van 1900 tot nu. Bijzonder om voor een server uit de 80’s te staan ter grootte van een frigo en dan te bedenken dat er hooguit een 10-tal mails op zouden passen vandaag... Uitleg wordt ook in NL aangeboden in de vorm van een uitleen gids
Un lieu de pèlerinage pour tous les passionnés d'informatique ! 8 euro l'entrée pour retracer l'histoire des machines modernes que nous connaissons aujourd'hui . Ce petit trip et voyage dans le temps devrait limite être obligatoire pour tous ces jeunes accro au Smartphone ne sachant pas ce qu'est le MS dos.... La collection présentée est impressionnante ! Des machines monstrueuses aux premières machines à écrire en passant par les bouliers et cartes perforées ! Les premiers pc portables sont justes en état impeccables.... Je recommande donc vivement cette visite ! Très bon accueil qui plus est
Un musée récent, instructif, complet sur le développement des ordinateurs, leur histoire et la cryptographie. Des activités (dessins) sont proposés pour les plus petits. L'accueil est très agréable et chaleureux et le personnel souriant, prévenant et très à l'écoute des questions. Un très bon moment passé. Il faut tout de même prévoir plus de 2h pour tout voir.
Un musée incontournable. A découvrir sans détour.
