Great museum, low prices. You can find a detailed history of Mechelen here with many object dating back to the middle ages. The museum is well curated and a ticket offers a discount for some other museums in Mechelen.

Very well done museum. They made such a good use of the place they have. Brought history together with modern architecture. Worth a visit.

Amazing museum - historical location where the displays get the space they deserve. Information available in 3 languages and a link is created between history and present of Mechelen.

Great exhibition, the collection itself is small but classy, but wonderfully exhibited!

A large and particularly attractive Renaissance complex built for the wealthy Busleyden family in the early seventeenth century. For many years, this palatial complex was home to the Berg van Barmhartigheid (Mountain of Charity), which provided interest-free loans to Mechelen’s poor, but the building was badly damaged in World War I and subsequently passed to the city.

A very nice local museum showing some modern art and some historical art. Clearly very involved in the local communities. The building itself is amazing - it's the old palace on the outside, but the inside is a completely modern design. Worth a visit!

The museum has an excellent array of exhibits but has opted for a rather minimalistic approach in a very confusing layout. While worth visiting, I think it might be better oriented towards families, having many children-friendly exhibits.
