Are you a supporter of the quote “The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it” ? if the answer is yes, then I think I found a place for you. Tranches de cake (in english cake slices), it’s a lovely resto café that delights guests with high calories creations. Cakes here, pancakes there, gourmandise is all around! Sugar is not the only ingredient, many dessert recipes are served here in a salted version, see cupcakes and cheesecakes. The menu offers a wide choice of bagels (more than 20!), and some salads. You can also check the suggestions boards to discover daily dishes home-made with fresh ingredients. Saturday is the happy day at Tranches de cake: brunch and all you can eat pancakes formulas are available! Yummy! Of course, I went there on a saturday and had a veggie brunch: bagel with creamcheese, feta, hummus, salads, different vegetables, boiled egg, orange juice and hot drink. Before that, I had to try their hot chocolate as well: it was creamy and tasty, I really liked it! I must admit in the end I felt super full and I couldn’t enjoy all the good things of my brunch. I think the best is to go more than once and taste a different dish every time. If you are somebody who can’t eat a lot of sugar or high calories stuff, just pick a salad and go when you are really really hungry. The design goes along very well with the concept, it’s a bit too girly maybe (a lot of pink and details that make you feel like at Barbie place) but as a girl, I loved it. For the same reason it’s a very good place for families with kids, that seem to be the usual guests of this café. Who’s behind the success of tranches de cake? Stéphanie and Aymeric, a couple in real life and …in the kitchen ! It’s proved: family run cafés have a better taste. Good to know: you can also contact them for “sweet” catering and customised cakes.
Bagels hyper frais, super bons et à tarifs tout doux (6 eur). Une jolie petite affaire de famille. J'espère qu'ils resteront là encore de longues années.
Ambiance familiale et très sympa. Produits de qualité et excellents desserts. Bon rapport qualité/prix. Je vous recommande ce lieu.
