I fell in love with these ruins full of history! Ancient abbey built in 7th century, almost ruined in 16th, but survived till our days. In quite busy and loud city center of Ghent it is a real surprise to meet this quiet and peaceful green place. Abbey is opened only on weekends, so not very easy to get there at any time you wish, but you should definitely plan your visit here! The entrance is free.
Great historical place. Entry is free and you don't need to spend more than 30 minutes to look around.
If you like ancient places and ruins, you will enjoy this place. It's a great secret place in Ghent
One of the most beautiful places in Ghent. This place is kept open by voluntary work.
I liked it but unfortunately we couldn't see it as it is closed. Google maps said it was opened. The walking around was nice tho.
Beautiful, but only open for a couple hours. Double check times before you go. Also, unlike other tourist attractions, there is very little information shared. You may want to read up a little before you go. Definitely worth going though.
Real shame it wasnt open. Google's maps take you to the back of it. The only info found at/near the site was in a window of a building in the nearby park. Needs to have better organized and website.. looked cool what we could see
