MOSAIK is part of the global network of open think tanks, with sister organisations spread throughout Europe, such as in Austria, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland and the UK. Based in Brussels, it will be an inclusive, open and grassroots platform which will serve a double role. The current goal is to establish MOSAIK as a Brussels Hub for the entire global network of think tanks. Serving as a facilitator in organising, hosting and promoting activities at the heart of Brussels, it will also relay and promote links and cooperation across the network. Its unique location will at the same time be its main advantage: being in the heart of EU and NATO policy and in the midst of political developments that affect Europe as well as stakeholders and actors beyond. In addition, the location offers the opportunity to connect and collaborate with other International Organisations, Institutions, and Civil Society. To perform better its function as a facilitator and a hub, MOSAIK will work towards building lasting relationships and connections between civil society and key foreign policy makers, independently produce content that will facilitate the discussion and the exchange of opinions, while also incorporating content from the global network. This will take place through the second pillar, the MOSAIK Think Tank. In Brussels, MOSAIK will periodically organise academic and policy discussions, exploring pressing international affairs issues, and prepare for larger network events. Embracing the grassroots principle, MOSAIK will seek to support broad societal participation through diverse formats, to generate creative and innovative policy inputs.
