Skatehouse\, located next to the DIY skatepark of Mechelen (Douaneplein) is a combination of many things. First of all, it's a nice skateshop, run by skaters with a love for the sport and with an interest for motorcycles (and yes, they have motorcycles on offer too if you are interested). Secondly they are kind of a skateboard school aimed at kids & adults alike. Decks and gear are also for rent if you are totally new to the sport. Thirdly, they have an excellent bar with a nice variety of beverages and snacks (incl small meals if you need to refuel). The bar has a lounge on the first floor, offering an excellent view on the skatepark and the indoor miniramp (in the shop: nice). This is particulary interesting for parents who want to keep an eye on their junior-Tony-Hawks while enjoying the hospitality which Skatehouse has on offer. All services come with a smile: you feel really welcome from the moment you step inside. Skatehouse is one of the best hangouts for skate enthousiasts in the Benelux.
