One of the most important things inside the church is the painting of Antoon Van Eyck called Christ on the Cross painted in 1630. It was built in 13th C CE. Today it is possible to go atop this tower for a panoramic view. On a clear day it is very much possible to see the Brussels' Atomium from atop here!!! On the way, you could spot some interesting things including the view of the organ from atop!!!

Beautiful and really impressive cathedral near the Grand-Place of Mechelen. We wanted to climb the tower during the afternoon but we were told that a reservation in the morning is needed. But the inside is free and it is worth the while. The entry for under 27 years old is only 3 so do not hesitate to take a try and observe the stunning views on the top of the cathedral!

Beautiful and lovely Catholic church in the heart of the city which is the co-cathedral of the diocese of Mechelan-Brussels. The bell tower is the most important and impressive part of the church which is opened for visitors to climb and it provides a clear view of the whole city. This Catholic church also stands as a landmark and identity of the city.

Beautiful cathedral in the center of Mechelen. The enormous glass stained windows are beautiful and a visit worthy of its owns. After paying a small fee you can climb the stairs of the beltowrr to the top to enjoy a great view.

Usual (and far not the most beautiful) gothic church. Ther are hundreds of them in Europe. And couple of them are right in Mechelen. And dosens of other cothic churches are more beautiful than this one.
