Great location, easily accessible and ample parking. Some hours it quiet, around the middle of the day you'll see more people. Everyone we've met was friendly. Structure is safe and sturdy. Top floor of the La Leys building seems to have Asbestos

My first urban exploring, amazing. To bad the government let something like this decay, and people who visit should clean up after themselves. Had an awesome time visiting.
It felt surprisingly safe walking around the abandoned buildings. It was semi popular for people to come and see. Some quite nice grafitti inside. In other countries it would likely be fenced off but there's not even signs here telling you not to go inside. It was used by the Germans, Americans and Belgiums all at different times in history. Only abandoned around the 1980s.
Have been there in July 2017. Nice place to explore.
Just be careful
Cool
The fort is built on a strategic height that dominates the valley of the Meuse, which had been occupied by a Carthusian (Ordre des Chartreux) monastery until the French Revolution. The fort was built by the Dutch, who at the time administered southern Belgium.
Great place to explore with easy access. Also a great jogging path!
