What a masterpiece by genius clockmaker Louis Zimmer! This place just has so much details, starting from the 13 different clocks on the frontside of the Zimmer tower and on the side the carousel of the famous Belgian people who are sometimes actually moving. Only accessible through the Zimmer museum if you pay the entrance fee. Worth it!

Impressive clock built inside one of the towers of Lier's medieval city fortifications. The best time to visit is at noon, when the carousel on the side of the tower, depicting famous people from Lier's and Belgium's history, is visible. The tower is accessible through the adjacent Zimmer Museum.

Beautiful clock tower in the quaint town of Lier.
Much smaller in the flesh than the pictures make it out to be, but it's a fascinating landmark in a lovely old town. Well worth the visit.
