Dr Thomas Pacolet is the best GP (General Practitioner) I have ever met. He is professional, thorough and attentive. He cares so much about his patients and is as great with kids as with elderly people.

Previously I have been at Lipsius for medical consultation, except the fact that actually no tests were conducted in order to confirm whether I had virus or bacterial infection I have been prescribed with antibiotics for 10 days. However that helped, so maybe that was a lucky guess. Couple of months later I got a severe flu, with a lot awful complication having fever around 40 degrees for longer than a week and generally feel that something is wrong. Since that was a medical practice I trusted, I thought that caring about people is more than just working hours and it would be possible for any of 6 doctors to actually help me out (after I explained all of the symptoms I had). I was wrong, the doctors suggested I should come when the appointment is available in the system. Wait till tomorrow? with 40 degrees fever, when no medicine helps and I felt weaker and weaker? That is for me an unacceptable approach as for a person that has been there before as a patient I think more respect could be expected. If you have a cold probably that is a place they could help you (of course if the appointment is possible) but I would not recommend this place, because I believe there should be a general doctors duty and willingness to simply help people. I hope some of the Doctors will read it and take it deeply to the heart. With my warmest regards, Karolina

Patienen helpen kunnen ze hier niet. Je afschilderen als een verslaafde aan slaapmiddelen, zonder het verslag van de psychiater van Gasthuisberg te lezen. Ik denk dat het Emelie was. In mijn verslag staat duidelijk dat zolpidem met succes is afgebouwd sinds november. Ik ging naar deze praktijk omdat het beste bereikbaar was voor mijn werk. Ik werd meteen veroordeeld als een verslaafde. Mijn huisdokter waar ik omwille van moeten gaan werken niet naar toe kon, heeft me wel uit de nood geholpen. Proficiat Emelie om mij een stempel te geven na zo veel moeite. Ik ga hier zeker mee verder. Bijna was mijn vakantie naar Griekenland in duigen gevallen. Rusten was haar advies. Op een hotelkamer? Noem je dat vakantie?
Eenmalig consult dokter E. Beke o.w.v. gastroenteritis. Met haar klinisch onderzoek heeft ze mij niet overtuigd, ze leek hierbij een paar van mijn klachten te negeren. Ik had het gevoel dat ze mij pas serieus nam toen ik haar een staal overhandigde, hoewel ze eerder zei dat dat niet nodig was. Op dat moment begon ze allerlei vragen te stellen die ik eigenlijk eerder al beantwoord had door mijn verhaal te vertellen. Daardoor kreeg ik de indruk dat ze niet echt geluisterd had. Ik vond over het algemeen dat de arts weinig empathie of interesse toonde, wat misschien te plaatsen was binnen de context van kennismaking. Ik voelde me echter zodanig slecht dat ik een beetje empathie wel had geapprecieerd.
Er werd heel goed naar ons geluisterd. Echt een aanrader!
