Delirium Tremens: Is a rapid onset of confusion usually caused by withdrawal from alcohol. I talk enough medical terminology at work; let’s talk about Delirium Tremens the beer instead. In the grand scheme of things this is a relatively young brew as it was first made in 1988 by Brewery Huyghe in Belgium by combining three different types of yeast. It wasn’t until 1992 though that the iconic pink elephant was introduced. The bottle stands out in a crowd as it is opaque with a blue wrapping and its pink elephant. In 2008 it was named as \Best Beer in the World\ at the World Beer Championships in Chicago. It is a Belgian strong golden ale beer that is 8.5% alc/vol, 26 ABUs, and approximately 225 calories per 12ml. It pours a pale blond color and is slightly hazy. The taste is slightly fruity and has been described by those with a more refined pallet then myself as orange zest, green apples and apricots with a hint of banana. I’m picky when it comes to beer and there are not many that I truly enjoy, so it means a lot when I say that it’s Doughboy approved. Doughboy_Food_Reviews *Review of beer only

This Brewery has been a long life dream to visit ever since I sipped my first Delirium Tremens beer two decades ago. This brewery tour was beyond anything I could have expected and the output of this Brewery is downright impressive. I never thought they would be this state-of-the-art but you must visit the brewery to see it firsthand. The end of the tour was by far the best part! You got to sip on beers you were familiar with to beers that were only available there at the brewery, which was an amazing treat! Rvery single beer that I had was beyond fantastic. This facility is top-notch and so is all the beer that they produce. Really worth checking out if you are in this region of Europe. They are the staple known around the world.

Warning, reservation required. This family-owned brewery has a compact, fully modernised production facility. Have a tour on a weekday to see it in operation, as they shut down on the weekend. After your tour there's a cosy tasting room where you can try the different beers. No food available, though, so eat before your tour.

Nice guide, fun tour, delicious tasting! Only the very rude bartender at the end of the tour left a sour taste in our mouth. We gave the same feedback to the guide, after which said bartender came to confront us about this (not in a nice way). Not the correct way to handle criticism.
