This was our favourite meal of our weekend in Ghent. You'd walk past it if you weren't being observant. Inside, it's like walking into someone's drawing room from a century ago. But, get past that and the service is refined and spot on, and the food innovative and delicious. Expensive but not ridiculous.

There's a certain atmosphere in this restaurant and I don't have decided yet if I like it. You certainly can't deny this restaurant has a distinct personality. The food was really nice but not the best I ever tasted. The waiters were OK. Since we were a group of 20 persons, I think we were very well served. I can't explain but there's something about this restaurant : you'll love it or you'll hate it. Try it out for yourself...

We truly enjoyed and had a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner with friends at Allegro Moderato! Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the owner and the staff and seated at a perfect table. The restaurant is sophisticated with a beautiful view of the canal. We had a very tasty 6 course menu with wine-pairing. The table setting was refined and elegant. The dishes were an explosion of flavors, delicious, very imaginative, paired with amazing wines with infos given for each wine by the owner. The service was impeccable, friendly and efficient. This was an outstanding culinary experience! Thank you and bravo to the chef and his team, staffs and most of all to the owner for making this a special and unforgettable evening! We even had a thoughtful doggy bag from the owner. Homemade crêpes with chocolate milk for breakfast the next day. So nice! We can’t wait to come back again.
