LABIOMISTA Reviews | Rating 4.3 out of 5 stars (8 reviews)

LABIOMISTA is located in Genk, Belgium on Marcel Habetslaan 50. LABIOMISTA is rated 4.3 out of 5 in the category modern art museum in Belgium.

Wonderful world of artist Koen Vanmechelen. Learn about his art in an amazing open air museum. The atelier of the artist is also located here. It is a truly unique experience.

Wonderful museum of contemporary art. You'll learn all about the cosmopolitan chicken project, along with beautiful architecture and a park as a wild natural environment. The message here is that diversity in society is necessary and a source of wealth, beauty and strength.

Great Belgian concept artist. Fantastic in an outdoor exhibit grounds.

This is very interesting project by Belgian conceptual artist Koen Van Mechelen. It's basically a parc housing his art studio and some of his work. You can find chickens from his Cosmopolitan Chicken Project, camels, sculptures and more. The entree fee (which is donated to a local community project) includes an audio guide with some great info. If you enjoy nature and contemporary art this place is certainly worth a visit.

This is accessible art with respect for nature and a nice hint to the local community. The former zoo-directors house is kept in all its beauty and serves artists in different areas. Close collaboration with local organisations for the maintenance of the outdoors; brilliant ! Well organised parking. Wheelchair friendly. Well done Koen Vanmechelen & Co.

Hollow like an empty egg. And huge as an ego. Full of cliches and commonplaces. The only question that this exhibition raises is if Money can make Art. The answer is definitely no. If you are looking for meaningful hybridation art, check the work of Eduardo Kac and co, here are the real questions. The only interesting thing was the wild meadows in the middle of the park.

Mainly outdoor trail - about 1.7km walk. Art by Koen Van Mechelen. But also simply beauty of nature and animals without fancy zoo cages. Must visit when you can ! (The studio - 1st floor doesn't seems to be open permanently, which is unfortunate)
