Read and write reviews about ENAEE (European Network for the Accreditation of Engineering Education). ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) is the organisation which authorises accreditation agencies to award the EUR-ACE label to the engineering degree programmes they accredit. The EUR-ACE label provides a set of standards known as the EUR-ACE Framework Standards. To be granted authority to award the label, a quality assurance or accreditation agency must satisfy ENAEE that it operates in accordance with these standards. To be successful in the workplace, engineers are required not only to have technical and problem-solving expertise upon completion of their engineering degree programme, but also those skills which are required to work across disciplines and teams, and the ability to communicate effectively in the workplace. These are all included in the EUR-ACE Framework Standards (EFS). Each Higher Education Institution (HEI) that has a EUR-ACE labelled engineering degree programme must undergo regular evaluation as to the quality and relevance of its engineering degree programmes. Authorised accreditation agencies engage engineering academics, together with engineers from industry to regularly evaluate engineering degree programmes and check that these programmes comply with the EFS and so retain the EUR-ACE label. ENAEE lists all these programmes in an easily accessible database at http://enaee.trynisis.com At a higher level, engineers from industry also sit on the Boards and Councils within authorised accreditation agencies. These decision-making bodies are responsible for overseeing and checking the implementation of these standards by the agencies and their review teams. The competences that are evaluated cover the full breadth of skills required and incorporate skills and knowledge both technical and transferable. Thus through the EUR-ACE labelling system, ENAEE and its authorised agencies are regularly in discussion and collaboration with industry, in order to maintain and improve standards. .
