This is a part of the Belgian railway line 161 which is connecting North station (Brussels) to Namur. The line first opened in, 1854 between the Brussels-Luxembourg station and La Hulpe railway station. It was completed in October 1856. The track on the photo is the bit between Brussels-Luxembourg (formerly named Quartier Leopold) and Schuman railway stations (in the background, opened 1969). There are 2 strings of 2 tracks each because the separation of the new \tunnel Josaphat\ line, number 161A (right) is anticipated some 100 meters before the entrance into the Schuman station. The 2 tracks to the right (line 161A) later join the 26 line at Meiser, whereas the 2 tracks on the left direct to Gare de Nord. That is also why inside the station there are 2 seperate platforms for every line, high level for Line 161A, later 26, to the airport and low-level for line 161 to Gare du Nord.

The station is clean and very big. What really surprised me was the lack of continued signage. There are many different shops for chocolate and various sweets of course.
Quite a nice station, spacious, modern and clean. A bit complicated but the signage is ok.
Not big station, but clean and beautiful , some people call it the European parliament station , because it's in the front of the parliament .metro and train together. Also connect to Brussels airport for ( 8.90 euros ) , a bit expensive for less than 10 minutes riding ,
Good station
Beautiful since the remake. Not like the public toilet desing of Maalbeek.
Nice after the long regeneration, but still confusing
Amazing train and metro station for take pictures and see the commission building but this station is a real maze and not enough indicated
