I went there a few years back and I was just telling my sister that is travelling to Belgium to study that if there was just one place I would visit while in Brussels it would be Claire Fontaine. I love the place and would recommend everyone visiting Belgium to pass by and try their delicious food, shop from their great selection of delicatessen and get to know the very friendly owner and staff. I can't wait to go back there.

Claire Fontaine is one of the last authentic epiceries of Brussels. Love her sandwiches and soups. She only sells quality products. Her positive spirits can also uplift your mood of you are having a bad day ;)

I really like the atmosphere of this place ️ It's been stablished since more than 30 years ago. Claire is the person who still prepares the food. They don't have vegan options, but they can make a taylor sandwich for you

Simply Devine , her ham baguette is to die for, we had it 3 times in our 4 days in Brussels. 6 is great value as the ingredients are amazing and the bread ! Well the bread is the beat I’ve ever had. 100% recommend . Thanks Claire for tour food and your friendly welcome.

Just off Place du Grand Sablon, this is a tiny but atmospheric tile-floored épicerie, fragrant with spices and home-cooked dishes – there’s a small kitchen at the back. It’s perfect for a nutritious and filling take-out sandwich or quiche, or you can stock up on oils, wine and boxes of pain d’épices (spiced biscuits). Next door are Mendes Wood Gallery and other antique shops in Les Sablons, the Saint Germain des Près of Brussels.

5 stars is not enough for this little gem. It offers great options of lunch (soups, cooked meals) or just a quick snack (sandwiches, tartes etc). Everything is delicious and the lady who owns the place is very friendly and welcoming. There are not many tables. Only 3 and they are outside. But you can take your food to go. Absolutely recommended!!

Oh WOW. Claire is the most welcoming and friendly lady. We're an Australian couple travelling throughout Europe and we stopped here for lunch on our first day in Belgium. All her food is home made and is delicious. We had a lovely conversation with Claire and we highly recommend you stop in her gorgeous store for a bite to eat.
