S&K Brussels BV was founded in July 2019 by two Japanese lawyers, Takeshige Sugimoto, Attorney-at-law (Japan, New York State, and Brussels (B-List)), and Akihiro Kawashima, Attorney-at-law (Japan, New York State, and Brussels (B-List)). Based in Brussels in the vicinity of the European Commission headquarters, our lawyers practice in the field of US and EU regulatory laws. Our firm excels at representing the Japan headquarters to check effectively that local officers and management in their US and/or EU subsidiaries comply accurately with their respective regulatory laws, and, if any problems are identified, assist them to improve promptly so as to prevent possible law enforcement. Furthermore, being based both in the US and in the EU enables us to communicate face-to-face with such officers and management at their regional offices. In cases where the Japan headquarters and overseas subsidiaries need to act jointly to comply with overseas regulatory laws or to respond to an investigation, we tailor our legal solutions through meetings with the local staff and management to match the current status of individual subsidiaries.
