The PAPAYA project (PlAtform for PrivAcY preserving data Analytics): EU "Horizon 2020" project - Start: May 2018 - Duration: 3 years Consortium: 6 partners, 5 countries - 2 academic research institutes: Eurecom, France, coordinator of PAPAYA and Karlstad University, Sweden; - 3 large industrial partners: Atos, Spain; IBM, Israel and Orange, France; - 1 industrial SME: MediaClinics, Italy. Context: - Data Analytics as a Service: valuable insights can be inferred from analytics of data generated and collected from a variety of devices and applications - Privacy concerns: data being analysed and processed put the individuals’ rights to privacy at risk. The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), came into force on May 2018, coerces companies to adopt privacy enhancing technologies that, on the one hand, protect data to ensure their clients’ privacy and on the other hand, allow their processing while keeping them meaningful, useful, and protected at the same time. Goals: - Design and implementation of dedicated privacy preserving data analytics modules that will enable data owners to extract valuable information from protected data, while being cost-effective and accurate. - Design of auditing and visualization modules, i.e a dashboard, to minimize the privacy risks while increasing trust in third-party data processors. - Integration of the primitives and the dashboard into the PAPAYA platform - Validation of the PAPAYA platform through a set of use cases reflecting relevant real world applications (namely, healthcare analytics and web & mobile data analytics).
