The North Norway European Office represents the regional interests of northern Norway in Brussels. The office particularly follows and seeks to influence the development of European Arctic policy, regional policy and industrial policies related to raw materials, transport, fisheries and R&D. Through its presence in Brussels, the office is also a regional competence centre on EU/EEA matters. The office is owned by the three northern-most counties in Norway; Nordland, Troms and Finnmark, and was established in 2005. In addition, the office has six partners: Tromsø municipality, Nord Univeristy, the University of Tromsø, Helgeland and Salten regional councils and the Norwegian Fishermen’s Sales Organization. The Norwegian Barents Secretariat is affiliated with the office through joint cooperation. ----------------- Nord-Norges Europakontor ble opprettet i 2005 for å fremme og forsterke nordnorske interesser i EU. Kontoret medvirker i EUs politikkutvikling ved å spille inn nordnorske synspunkter så tidlig i prosessen som mulig. Man ønsker å påvirke i forkant samt utnytte handlingsrommet i etterkant. Gjennom tilstedeværelsen i Brussel er kontoret dessuten landsdelens kompetansesenter på EU/EØS. Kontoret er eid av fylkeskommunene Nordland, Troms og Finnmark, og har seks partnere: Tromsø kommune, Universitetet i Tromsø, Nord Universitet, Norges Råfisklag, Helgeland regionråd og Salten regionråd. Barentssekretariatet er tilknyttet kontoret gjennom felles samarbeid.
