This campsite is in a very beautiful, peaceful setting by the river. It was our second visit. It's definitely more expensive than others in the area (almost double the price of another we like). The owner could be more friendly and welcoming to all his guests. He seemed unfriendly towards us. One example: my teenage son waiting for me by the bar while I went to the toilet block, and was asked what he was doing (just waiting) and told it was a private site and to go wait somewhere else. Why not just politely ask if he was a camper there and with which family/ pitch? So bizarre and unnecessary. There were other examples of bluntness, verging on rudeness. Perhaps this is a Dutch thing, but not nice when you are on holiday. This campsite also has a lot of rules which others don't...much as we like the location, there are more to try in the area.

My favourite camp site. It's in a spectacular location with great walks, cycle routes and kayaking close by. Lots for the children to do during the day, and a nice bar and cafe for the evening. Then join everyone else chilling and chatting round one of the many camp fires.
A fantastic camping with lovely hosts in a beautiful setting. Very tranquil setting right on the river, with a nice terrace to enjoy a beer. Lots to do, hiking, kayaking, castles, swimming. Great family camping, spotlessly clean, will definitely be back.
Found this site on google while planning our return trip through Europe. We visited out of prime camping season, and it was a fantastic stop on our trip despite the rain :) The owners are very friendly, welcoming and also speak English. The owners offered us fresh bread and croissants to be ordered in for the morning. The scenery is fantastic. We chose to eat here as we arrived later than planned, the food is very good, we ordered the Dutch Meatballs, Burgers and Chips each, yummy.

Camping maka camping kaka. DON’T GO THERE!!! Extremely unfriendly owner. I wanted to buy a few beers to take with us on a hike and he treated me as a criminal. Very unpleasant experience and a very agressive attitude.
Camped at Camping Maka during the Aug 2018 summer holiday. We were introduced to this campsite by friends of ours, so had some idea of what to expect, but only when we were there could we really appreciate it. Great setting, set up and offered all you could expect for an ideal camping experience. Lots of activities to do local to the campsite and our children really enjoyed what the river and woodland had to offer. Will definitely recommend for families with children 4yrs and older!
