Very interesting old fort, destroyed in 1554 and never rebuilt again. Some restoration work done in the recent years. The panoramic view over the valley is very impressive. There is no parking available, you must leave the car some 1 km away.

The ruins of Chateau de Montaigle must be among the most imposing sights in Belgium. The castle is (was) situated on a high outcrop between two rivers. The site is in varying states of repair and the surrounding forest area has many paths for walking. Children, if they are anything like my son, will enjoy this place. It also helps that it is within day trip distance from Brussels.
