Firstly the service was excellent, the linen , towels, glass ware were spotless clean. Starting with the amuse-bouche, I am not that impressed since I expected to be introduced with a very tasty result. The sardine was well marinated but the cold soup was a bit fishy. For the menu of the day, which I chose . First course , visually was appropriate for gourmet category but taste wise was insufficient. The tartar of salmon wasn't what I expected. The salmon was very intense by a fishy smell and the acidity of the mayonese and lemon jell wasn't enough to balance he oiliness of the fish. The main course with the wolf fish was nearly excellent, taste wise and was perfectly cooked. The shavings of asparagus wasn't that tender and a bit stringy. Overall a great main course. Lastly the dessert was perfectly fresh. The soup of red fruits with vanilla ice cream and crumble was ideal to close a meal that counts have been perfect. Would visit again

Fresh products, and a nice interior, as well as a good choice of wines and an excellent service. Really nothing you could note as negative. The waiting times for the plates are a bit long, but it's noted only that it's better to book them in advance, although it's not a most if you don't mind the waiting. In short, an excellent seafood place in Liege with excellent service.

We have been there quite recently, but have visited L'Ecailler already twice before (about 2-3years ago). In the years before, we always had excellent service. The drinks and the wine were excellent, and we have also been particularly happy with the food (the cod being my favourite due to the excellent sauce hollandaise). The deserts, especially the sorbets, are always a great pleasure. The overall impression has not changed since, however, with our latest visit, we found that particularly one server was not very polite (taking plates without awaiting our answer, asking for coffee after dinner, while two were absent, ...). Regarding the food, the cod was very nice as always, however, I would have wished for more mashed potatoes. Otherwise, it was a really nice stay and it deserves its 4 stars fully. With our next visit, hopefully no server has a bad day, so I can raise this to 5 stars :)
