Small, dirty bar with a fabulous history! Nothing fancy but it's the CBGB of Gent! Great people and great music from lesser known and well known bands.

Cool bar to go crazy in..and crawl out at 3 am..many gigs..and musicians after playing..spotted..goatsnake.bassist.mark stewart and the pop group maffia..crazy crazy livebands from hair to black metal from wimpy pop to gg allin.from cowpunk too rockabilly to noise shoegaze..to punkrock.for a night out with..the crazy locals..and who knows..plenty of fish..maybe not fresh..but hey its the kinky star..If eagles of death metal were a bar it would be this..this wolf in sheepskin bar..be aware..the locals do bite!! only for real men or haha..nice women.. tourist groups will be inmiediatly laughed at and kicked to the basement..So come alone . freaks only ..no england england groups..renember its the kinky star..so..fearless foreigners welcome..The real gent..dont bother with the snobbish and famous..charlatan..next door.maybe gents most famous bar..we however .are not welcome..there..its full..and expensive..Not so for the kinky star..great gigs music..most nights..Higly reccomended..i 4 star not 5..this..cause they used to have an american woman behind the bar..what is a big big mistake!!!she coudnt pour a pintje..belgian bars..can really only be run by belgians.as the choice of belgian beers alone..is huge..compared to a us or english bar..i mean every beer its on glass way of pouring..1 cannot!! put a clueless american behind the bar..NEVER AGAIN PLEASE!! FRIENDLY PEOPLE U CAN TALK TO.ANYONE WATCH OUT FOR PIRANAS AND BARSHARKS..BUT TRUST THE STAFF!BEWARE EXTREEM DRUNKNESS GARAUNTED! AND KINKY STARS..M/F..SEEKING ..a body for the night..i got suddenly snogged by off duty policewoman at the bar .kinky? you bet..the place to let yout hair..and if u lucky..your pants down..excpect..to end up..in a new place at 6 am..with some 1 rammbling at u about well..god knows..walk im crawl.out..bar..and hey! the afsnee..20 meters down the road seems to stay open all night .so kinky next..go afsnee..they will tell u the kinky staff..or follow the other drunks have fun!!!

This place exists for 25 years now in Ghent (as of 2017) and is well known for its nonstandard music programmation. They manage to find unknown but high-performing bands from Belgium and abroad, and even though you don't always know what you're in for, it will always leave an impression. Recently the installation received a much needed update, so the bands and audience can enjoy a remarkeably good sound. The bar offers a good selection of drinks, served with a big smile by devoted staff and volunteers. If you're interested in the indie scene, this place is a must visit.

Coole club, vol muziek en muziekliefhebbers. Gratis optredens, 5 dagen per week, en heel vaak van nog niet bekende pareltjes, wat wil een mens nog meer??

Je kan er wel goeie Metal optredens bijwonen. De prijzen voor het bier zijn wel wat aan de hoge kant. De ruimte is ook niet van de grootste (het is een beetje een tunnel) dus kan je niet altijd de artiesten goed zien en als je aan de toog staat sta je in de doorgang. In de zomer kan je wel buiten staan natuurlijk.
