This perfectly safe nuclear power plant provides 15% of Belgium’s energy needs. This amounts to millions of tons of carbon emissions saved since it went online. I’m grateful we have this wonderful, stable source of clean energy to fight against the climate catastrophe. We need many more! EDIT: to respond to the previous reviewer. Accident, accident. Do you know the safety mechanisms in place in this power plant? It’s extraordinary. A comet could hit the site and it wouldn’t do much. We cannot afford to dismiss this safe and clean energy source just because there *could* theoretically be an accident. We need to get rid of fossil fuels, which are doing damage EVERY SINGLE DAY by design, without an accident ever. In fact, I wish there were more accidents in coal or oil plants so they would stop working and people might start caring more about the damage they do.

To the people that think this plant is perfectly safe, have you heard of hydrogen cracks? Radiation embrittlement? And the 4C Coolant margin on this plant due to those two issues? I have a degree in physics and I'm a big fan of nuclear power, this one however is deeply flawed and is becoming increasingly dangerous. That one guy claiming it would survive a comet strike surely must live in one hell of a delusional world; FYI: Literally any comet would trigger a KT-Level extinction event. This installation is on the brink of failing, literally any disturbance in one single system could kill thousands and make wide stretches of land, potentially as big as belgium itself inhabitable for hundreds of years. If that's a risk you're willing to take, I'm afraid you're a moron and quite possibly an egomaniac.

Absolute clean energy powerhouse! The equivalent of about 3000 wind turbines (and lots of energy storage), but on a tiny little slice of land! Keep it going! \u003c3

Nuclear energy is the bomb.

Swiping through these reviews makes me furious and sad. We all know that nuclear power plants provide ‘clean electricity’ with no emissions whatsoever and as long as nothing happens we can bare this. But IF a major malfunctions is occurring, which is more likely with the years passing, then people are gonna die, and large parts of the own and neighboring countries are gonna be uninhabitable for a very very very long time. Turn it off in order to prevent anything like Chernobyl or Fukushima from happening again!

We had a blast! I habe never experienced such a tense atmosphere. You could literally feel the electricity in the air. Would recommend, but there was no smoking allowed, 4/5

Nuclear powerplants are the safest source of energy. Our nice politicians should think about transmutation! No CO2 emissions, small area needed (compared to wind, hydroelectric or solar), and much safer.

Very important plant for the continuous supply of clean electricity to Belgium. It is sad to read all the reviews from mostly German people who ought to study the topic a little more and take care of their own lignite power stations.
