A place to get deeper into the practise of meditation. And also a place to go deeper into the teachings of the Buddha.

I did Vipassana twice. And here I've felt the most comfortable and peaceful

I have participated in the seminar with a teacher from Netherlands that I forgot name. This was my next Vipassana seminar after couple of previous one I did. The teacher has removed me from seminar as I had health problem and I just wanted to call a doctor to check if this is nothing serious. Besides, during the seminar there were no appropriate conditions regarding Covid and there was the risk of infection. I said this to the teacher, but he said for this seminar nothing can be done. I do not think that is a reasonable decision. He also made decision to remove me from seminar spontanously without any previous information in the middle of the day because I had health problems and needed to find a solution quickly. He said I have to go now because I will „disturb others with energy”. I said that I need time to find accommodation, but he said these are the „rules of seminar”. So I had to in stress clean my room, pack myself and see the eyes of other paricipants that observed me with surprise. I am not a teacher of Vipassana, but I think that his behaviour is not an example of compassion that Goenke spoke about and so I cannot recommend a seminar with this Dutch teacher. Moreover, putting at risk at least 60 people being infected with Covid is an example of irresponsibility towards others. I want to underline that my comment refers to only this one Dutch teacher. The teachers in my previous seminars had more compassion.

Like all other dhammas, this one is also run by volunteers and gifts. It's a former hotel close to the border of the Netherlands. The accommodation is in a OK/good state but don't expect to stay over in a hotel. Everything (garden, food, rooms, etc.) is taken care of at a decent level to avoid overspending. There are shared rooms and some of them have bathrooms (which are shared). The environment is flat and typical for lower lands. There are paths for walking and enjoying nature. During my 10-day stay (2015), the voluntary staff was very friendly and carried out a well organized program. There are rules when you enter a Vipassana program such as a o speak\ policy. Men and women are physically separated from each other, as so with every activity (meditation areas, canteen, etc.). The goal is to focus on the Self and get rid off disruptions in your mind and become enlightened like Buddha by the teachings of S.N. Goenka. It's absolutely not a cult, not a sect nor a religion.
