EN: I visited Kokuban for lunch with my colleagues, thinking that it would be a good experience (considering the 414 reviews!) but it was disappointing. Despite having Japanese staff, the food isn't very Japanese: - Gyozas are not homemade made, you can find them at any Asian supermarket; - The ramen is not like anything I've had in Tokyo or in real Japanese restaurants: the broth is watery and a bit insipid, the toppings are sparse and sometimes not very well cooked. All together, it's nothing more than a noodle soup; When I spoke to the waiter about this and stated the fact that this is far from a real Japanese food, he said that \it's a concept for foreigners\ and I agree...Kokuban offers nothing more than noodles for gaijins which is quite sad.

Very nice authentic Japanese food, service is very friendly in the Japanese way. A large plus was that several groups of Japanese were dining at this restaurant, so that’s a very positive sign. Food was delicious, with the authentic Japanese flavors. I would totally recommend to go here if you want to eat authentic Japanese food for a very good price / quality!

I love this place! The food is delicious, the price is reasonable, the environment simply decorated and neat! My favorites: octopus with the ginger, gyoza, ramen with miso broth, black sesame ice cream and the japanese lemonade.

I had the lunch menu, for 12 I got the gyozas, a shoyu ramen and icetea. The location and ambiance were really nice. The gyozas were tasty and the ramen was also very good, altough the broth was rather thin (which is to expect for a shoyu). Service was friendly and the food arrived very fast.
