The place isn't hard to find and very centrally located Look for the blue door with \bYoga\ written on it that leads to a picturesque courtyard and ring the doorbell. Once you are buzzed in follow 2 sets of stairs to the studio. The studio itself is quite small, you can have about 8 students comfortably, or more if you're happy to squeeze. I showed up for a morning weekday class with Anne, who was very knowledgeable and professional. She told me that the intermediate class wasn't eligible for the try-out class rate, but she had change on hand for the fees. Including myself there were 4 students in the class, and as is normal for Iyengar yoga we used a lot of props. This style of yoga is very particular and alignment focused, but I find that the cues didn't give my body freedom to express itself in its unique way. While Anne was very hands on and gave specific intelligent adjustments, Iyengar style of yoga doesn't quite accommodate for the practitioner's individual needs. When I mentioned injuries/discomfort the response was either, don't do it, or you must be doing it wrong because this is the correct way. This is the only style of yoga practiced at this studio so for students of this lineage I would recommend this space. For such a small studio there are lots of dedicated props and wall attachments to facilitate the \correct\ alignment. The \changing room\ is one tiny break room, so I suggest coming in with workout clothing underneath if you are at all body shy.

Excellent Iyengar yoga teaching
I had the lesson on Saturday morning, I liked the sequence of positions/postures but the place is quite small and crowded. Also I find it hard to find a course in Brussels where the teacher talks you through all the way so you can focus all the time on your breath rather than looking at what has to be done. I did not appreciate the greeting, I did not know the place so I was a bit lost and wasn't late but not 10mn early as requested and of course the teacher picked on that before I had a chance to apologise. I would assume a more 'yogic' welcome even if I understand I did not make the best impression. This has put me off as well as the 'oulala' when some people did not do the 'right' thing. I will not be back.
Premier cours avec Anne, un mot : super Précis, bien dirigé, respectueux des capacités de chacun, patience.
