Launched in December 2013, MED Confederation is a collaborative network that brings together companies, corporations, civil society leaders, networks, associations, and foundations in order to facilitate and develop Euro-Mediterranean socioeconomic cooperation and integration, social advancement and cultural exchange by: • Creating and consolidating a network of business and economic civil society Mediterranean leaders; • Through this network, establishing a dialogue between corporate, civil society and think-tank representatives to address socio-economic and private sector development challenges of Mediterranean countries; • Strengthening civil society and business partnerships between main regional economic stakeholders; and • Improving local skills that are necessary for the development of business projects. Its founding members are “la Caixa” Foundation (Spain), WSBI (World Saving and Retail Banking Institute, Belgium), IEMed (European Institute of the Mediterranean, Spain), IPEMED (Institute Economic Forecasting World Mediterranean, France), Caisse des Depots et Consignations (Tunisia), Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (Morocco), TEPAV (Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey) and Al Barid Bank (Morocco). MED Confederation brings value in the region and provides its esteemed members with an opportunity to serve both their institutions and the Mediterranean at large.
