The Council of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS) is an International Non-Profit Association, with the aim to develop a framework within which the major Aerospace Societies in Europe can work together. It presently comprises thirteen Trustee Member Societies with a combined roughly 3500 individual members: 3AF (Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France, France) AAAR ( Asociatia Aeronauticâ si Astronauticâ a României, Romania) AIAE (Asociación de Ingenieros Aeronáuticos de España, Spain) AIDAA (Associazione Italiana Di Aeronautica e Astronautica, Italy) CzAeS (Czech Aerospace Society, Czech Republic) DGLR (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt, Germany) FTF (FlygTekniska Föreningen, Sweden) HAES (Hellenic Aeronautical Engineers Society, Greece) NVvL (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Luchtvaarttechniek, Netherlands) PSAA (Polish Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Poland) RAeS (Royal Aeronautical Society, United Kingdom) SVFW (Schweizerische Vereinigung für Flugwissenschaften, Switzerland) TsAGI (Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute, Russia) CEAS also comprises five Corporate Members: EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) ESA (European Space Agency) LAETA (Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transports and Aeronautics, Portugal) VKI (Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Belgium) EUROAVIA (The European Association of Aerospace Students) Following its establishment as a legal entity conferred under Belgium Law, this association began its operations on January 1st, 2007. Its basic mission is to add value at a European level to the wide range of services provided by the constituent Member Societies, allowing for greater dialogue between the latter and the European institutions, governments, aerospace and defence industries and academia.
