One star is due to poorly communicated opening times on the website. They should be clear that they actually close the museum and demonstrations at 16.00 - 16.30. P.S. the shop has barely any lace pieces in it.

Very interesting to learn about hand made lace

Really enjoyed the demonstrations. Otherwise, I think it would have been a little disappointing. The museum does have a nice video detailing the history.

It is neat to see the examples of lace products. But the best bit is to go to the workrooms in the school and see people demonstrate lace making. They are very friendly and (deservedly) proud of their work. There were some old ladies with arthritic hands who could still manipulate the bobbins faster than I could follow! It takes an hour out so to go through and is definitely worth the effort.

This place is pretty cool- but make sure you come on the weekend. Its small and is dedicated to handmade lace. On the weekends they have people actually making lace there. On the weekdays, there is a running video on lace making and some historical information on it, as well as some pieces of lace on display- veils and religious items- for viewing. I wouldnt say its really a destination but a cool stopping off point. They have a little shop to buy souvenirs as well- its just before you exit and isnt really a 'shop' so look for the wall before the information/ ticket desk

Really great museum on lace making, and all the more fascinating seeing the lace being painstakingly made by hand.
